Water Stones: American-Made Quality
The Sharpening Supplies Water Stones are the perfect, high-quality sharpening stones made in America. Our 8″ new size is popular.
Why Choose Our Water Stones?
Fast Cutting and Hard-Wearing: Indeed, these stones could be described as the fastest cutting we have ever seen. They also don’t wear out as quickly, and hence resurfacing is not done frequently.
It may be difficult to maintain flatness and still keep a speedy cut. Stone that last longer usually takes a longer time to cut while those that cut fast wear out quickly too. Consequently, our stones can balance both qualities offering speed in addition to durability.
Stiffer Bond: Our stones are set with a vitrified bond that feels crisp under the tool, stiffer than some of our muddier competitors. What this means is that you are getting a good cutting effect without all the sliced sall over.
The stones should be soaked in water for 10-20 minutes before they are to be used. Many types of stones degrade when in contact with water over long duration however, our vitrified bond will not break down if submerged underwater.
Multiple Grits Available – We have these stones available in various grit levels depending on your sharpening preferences. Grits plans are: 220,400,600,800,1000;3000 and no charge to freight. This selection gives you the ability to choose what stone is best for your tasks, whether something aggressive enough to remove some steel or fine enough that it’s just a balm on metal frustrations.
Standard Size: Each stone is 8″ x 1-15/16″ x 0.5″. These will fit a variety of knives and tools. The stones are also sturdy – and so they will outlive softer alternatives.
