If you have scissors that are looking a little dull, the SVX-150 does this with great functionality. This is a tool that will sharpen all scissors, from the regular paper scissors to big garden shears.
Inside the SVX-150 is a special jig with a holder that holds the scissor blades and an adjustable plate for support. This Torlock design keeps everything firmly in place with an increase in locking pressure by 250%.
First, place the universal support close to the sharpening stone. You can use a marker to color the bevel of the scissors; this helps you see exactly where you are sharpening and hence remove less material, making the process quicker.
Most scissors have an edge angle of 60° and sometimes one or both blades may be curved fractionally. The Tormek design of the SVX-150 allows you to match the shape of the blade perfectly for an even sharpening all along the edge.
They will now be much sharper than they were before you sharpened them. Just to knock off this tiny burr, draw the scissors through a piece of end grain wood, and you’ll have scissors that cut like new.
