Wicked Edge Stone Pack – Chosera 5K-10K Grit. The 5K/10K Grit Chosera water stone pack for the Wicked Edge Sharpener is for mirror polishing and slicing edges on knives and tools, but especially kitchen knives. The 5,000 grit stone leaves a well established mirror finish and an edge more suitable for slicing. The 10K puts a mercury mirror polish and a shaving sharp edge. Stones are approx 5 – 5.5mm thick and come mounted to standard Wicked Edge style paddles. Stones are used with water only.
5,000 Grit Chosera is a fine grit stone that can be used to create a mirror finish and slicing sharp edge, and to prep the edge for the 10K.
10,000 Grit Chosera is an ultra fine grit polishing stone that is used to bring out a mercury smooth mirror finish and makes the edge shaving sharp. It also sets the stage for further refinement, stropping, and polishing of the edge.
Chosera stones do wear, and we recommend using a glass lapping plate or a diamond lapping plate to maintain the stones flatness over time. Due to the varying stone thicknesses over time and use, we also recommend using the WE Paddle Non-Magnetic Stone Adapter to guarantee accurate angles. All Wicked Edge stone pack paddles are compatible with the Rack-Its custom Wicked Edge Paddle Stands.
