The Maestro Wu H2 Kukri Knife/Machete is a serious piece of “get out of my way”. Weighing in at over 500 grams, or about 1+ pound, this beast can slay all kinds of zombies. We sharpened this Kukri at 25 degrees per side using the Jende JIGS for Knives and the 400, 1K, 3K, and 5K Chosera stones, and finished with the 0.5 Jende Nanocloth Strop loaded with 0.5 micron Jende Poly knife stropping emulsion.
The technique involved for this particular knife was more about balancing the weight in the center of the JIGS since it is rather top heavy. It is also kind of long, with the blade area measuring 300mm, or 12″ and the total length in at about 450mm, or 18″, so centering that weight helps keep everything in place as you sharpen.
