Available Grits
Atoma diamond plates are available in the following grits-
- 140 Grit: Ideal for heavy reprofiling and removing deep chips from blades.
- 400 Grit: Suitable for general sharpening and edge refinement.
- 600 Grit: Provides a fine edge suitable for everyday use.
- 1200 Grit: Offers a polished edge for fine slicing tasks
The 1×4 Atoma Diamond Plates are a premium sharpening solution for the KME Sharpener. They can also be used as slip stones, field stones, or pocket stones for added versatility. This diamond plate is also known as KME Sharpener Diamond Plate.
Atoma 1×6″ diamond plates are premium sharpening tools designed for guided systems like Edge Pro, Hapstone, and TSPROF. These plates are mounted on a 1×6″ aluminum blank, making them compatible with various sharpening jigs and also suitable for use as slip stones or field stones.
The Atoma Diamond Plates can be used either dry or with water, offering flexibility depending on your preference and specific needs.
Tips and Hacks:
- When sharpening with water, a cleaner surface will cut faster than one with a lot of swarf.
- If sharpening dry, clean stones will cut faster, though loaded stones will leave a slightly more refined finish.
- For major repairs with the 140 grit, alternate the direction of the scratches between straight and angled to enhance cutting power.
- For an all-diamond progression, we recommend following up with the 1×4 Jende Diamond Resin Stones or 1×4 Jende Diamond Films.
