Build your own Jende 2 sided paddle strop to meet your knife, straight razor, and woodworking tool stropping needs! Start with our Acacia wood paddle and choose from rough leather, rough roo, leather, roo, felt, and nanocloth stropping substrates to get the exact strop you want.
Stropping substrate options:
-- Rough and Smooth Cow Leather - the most common used stropping mediums. The rough side (suede) is a little more aggressive and the smooth side is finer. Generally the rough leather is used with compound or emulsions and the smooth side can be used clean or loaded.
-- Rough and Smooth Kangaroo Leather - Kangaroo is smoother and thinner than cow leather making it ideal for finer stropping needs. Generally the rough roo is used with compound or emulsions and the smooth side can be used clean or loaded.
-- Nanocloth - Nanocloth allows for more dynamic stroppping. Its honeycomb structure allows you to use more or less pressure to get different aggression levels at the same grit. It needs to be loaded for use. We highly recommend using the nanocloth with our emulsions and sprays.
-- Hard Felt - Hard felt is 5mm of compressed wool and is widely used as a straight razor stropping medium, but works just as well on knives and tools. The softness of the felt compressed to the blade shape without being to invasive. It needs to be loaded for use. We highly recommend using the Jende Nanocloth spray.
