The W.R.I.S.T. is a support system for Oboe, English Horn, and Clarinet that attaches to any music stand. W.R.I.S.T. stands for Weight Reduction Instrumental System Technology. It was designed by Bob Morgan, English Horn and Oboist with the Chicago Lyric Opera. Holding the much heavier English Horn for hours and hours over the years led him to designing this wonderful support system, which is adaptable for English Horn and Oboe, and also has a Clarinet attachment.

The W.R.I.S.T. was first designed as a practice and performance aid to reduce the right hand stress of the weight of the instrument, and has become a widely used as a preventative injury and injury recovery aid to many professional musicians who use it in their practice studio,on concert stages, and in orchestra pits around the world.

It is also an educational tool for beginner oboe and clarinet students, who inevitably crimp the right hand to compensate for the weight and size of the instrument. Beginner students that use the W.R.I.S.T. learn good habits and are more productive and successful from day one.

The W.R.I.S.T. secures to any music stand, even wire stands. The spring adjusts to the correct distance for the bell to rest comfortably on the Oboe/English Horn or Clarinet hook. The rod inside the spring adjusts in and out to allow more or less bend to the hook to compliment the amount of motion prefered while playing. It's that simple.
