100% Australian made, The Sydney Strop Co. double-sided black cow leather paddle strop is a must-have accessory for maintaining sharp knives and cutting tools. The paddle itself is artisan made from Australian Spotted Gum hardwood, which is an exotic yet sustainable Australian hardwood that rates around twice as hard as oak, and serves as a rock solid base to make the sharpening process easier and helps to quickly bring edges back to an ultra-sharp finish with very little effort.
Designed with two functional sides, both surfaces are made from carefully selected premium Australian cow leather to ensure outstanding results. One smooth surface is ideal for final edge refinement and can be used either with a high-grit compound or on its own. The suede or rough side of the paddle strop is suitable for applying lower-grit compounds when more targeted sharpening is required. The same strop in Brown Australian cow leather can be found here.
Cow leather offers flexibility, resilience, and aids in creating a convex edge on the blade, adding strength to the bevel.
